Previous to this appointment, she served as the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of Texas at El Paso, and Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs at the University of New Mexico, where she also served as Associate Dean for Finance and Administration, and as a tenured Professor of Law. The Provost works with deans, faculty and staff across the campus to continue developing and promoting NMSU’s strategic plan, LEADS 2025, to enhance the excellence of its academic and research programs, while successfully offering opportunities for social mobility and student success to first-generation and historically underserved student populations. As a first-generation college student, Provost Parker understands the power of higher education to change lives.
